We are total lovers of butter coffee! And if you are on the higher fat, low carb lifestyle then, it’s a great way to kick off your day. It keeps you satisfied and can make you feel good mentally and physically. Plus, if you are into “Time Restricted Eating” or “Intermittent Fasting” it won’t break your fast.

Ideally, butter coffee can delay or even replace breakfast. If need be you can follow it up with a small to medium-sized breakfast that is rich in protein. We find that butter coffee and breakfast together gives us lots of energy for the entire morning.

If you are going to try this delicious drink then it’s important to start off with grass-fed butter! It provides a good source of conjugated linoleic acid (CLA), butyrate, vitamin A, and vitamin K. (If you have a dairy sensitivity you can use ghee).

To make this recipe, we start with two cups of fresh brewed organic coffee.
We pour the coffee in a large glass measuring cup and add 2 tablespoons of grass-fed butter. Next, we add about 2 tablespoons of MCT oil. (It’s important to start with smaller amounts of MCT oil if you aren’t used to consuming it. It can cause gastro-intestinal issues till you adjust. You can also substitute coconut oil). MCT Oil is a great source of medium-chain triglycerides.

The final step is to blend it all together for about 10-15 seconds, or until everything is combined and a froth has formed. Then serve hot and enjoy!
